Porter Robinson has been nominated for Best Dance Recording at the 2019 Grammy Awards, with track ‘Ghost Voices’ produced under his trance and hardstyle-focussed Virtual Self pseudonym.

‘Ghost Voices’ left a mark when ‘Virtual Self’ dropped in 2017, with Calvin Harris one of its leading champions, tweeting out his support for it; a respect and source of inspiration which turned out to be mutual. Robinson went on to feature as our North American cover star early in 2018.

The nomination obviously meant a lot to Robinson, who commented to Billboard: “I felt like I won the moment I got nominated. That is a complete victory for the project in my mind.” He added, “I was ecstatic to be honest, I basically found out from Twitter. I didn’t even know I’d been submitted.”
